Quadpack joins UN Global Compact to help shape a better world

Quadpack Industries has signed up to the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. The move is in line with the company’s CSR strategy and offers a set of agreed guidelines to ensure responsible governance, while helping to shape a better world.

The UN Global Compact calls on companies to align their strategies and operations with 10 universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. It also supports businesses in taking strategic actions to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.

Quadpack CSR Director Alex San Miguel said: “The UN Global Compact aims to ensure that business is a force for good. It is all part of our long-term strategy to promote a culture of integrity in a way that is perfectly compatible with running a successful business. As we grow bigger, our impact becomes greater and we take our responsibility towards society and the environment very seriously.”

Joining the UN Global Compact means incorporating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into strategies, policies and procedures, guided by its 17 SDGs. As a participant, Quadpack commits to:

  • Ensuring that the UN Global Compact and the Ten Principles become part of strategy, culture and day-to-day operations.
  • Advocating the UN Global Compact and the Ten Principles via communications channels.
  • Communicating annually with its stakeholders on efforts to implement the UN Global Compact principles.

The Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact are derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

The SDGs are the result of ’Agenda 2030’, a plan adopted by all 193 UN member states in 2015 to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect the planet.
